On this page
These terms of use ("terms") are an agreement between you and Confispace Technologies LLP ("Confispace", "we", "us") for the Confispace Attendee App — called "Confispace" on the App Store and Google Play — and the Confispace account you use in it (together, the "app"). You accept them when you tick the box at sign-up. Please also read the community guidelines, which are part of these terms, and the privacy policy.
1. Who may use the app
- You must be 16 or older.
- Use your real name and an email address you own. Your account is for you alone: don't share it, and keep your password safe.
- Tell us at contact@confispace.com straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
2. Zero tolerance
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We remove such content and the people who post it. This applies to everything in the app: chat messages, photos and files, meeting requests, questions, poll answers and profiles. You must not post or send:
- harassment, bullying or threats;
- hate speech, or content that attacks people for who they are;
- sexual content;
- spam or scams;
- anything that impersonates another person or organization;
- illegal content, or content that encourages illegal activity;
- other people's personal data, without their permission.
The community guidelines explain what we expect in more detail.
3. How we enforce it
- You can report any message, profile, photo or meeting request, and block anyone.
- Every report is reviewed and acted on within 24 hours.
- A message reported by two people is hidden until it has been reviewed. A person reported by several people in one day is muted until a moderator decides.
- Words that aren't allowed are refused when you post.
- The event's organizer and Confispace may remove content, mute a person, remove them from an event, or ban their account from all of Confispace — without notice where needed.
4. Events are run by their organizers
Each event in the app is run by its organizer. Confispace reviews every event before it goes live and may take any event down at any time, but each organizer is responsible for their event's content and its own rules. Questions about an event itself — its program, tickets or who may join — go to its organizer.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give Confispace and the event's organizer a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, show and deliver it to the people you shared it with, in that event, for as long as it is in the app. You confirm you have the right to post it.
6. Your account and your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete my account. It's immediate and can't be undone; use Download my data first if you want a copy. If you can't sign in, see delete your Confispace account. What is deleted and what is kept is explained there and in the privacy policy.
7. Using the app
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from.
- Don't copy, change, take apart or resell the app, and don't try to get around its security or the settings an organizer chooses for their event.
- Features depend on what each organizer turns on for their event, and may change over time.
8. Apple and Google
- These terms are between you and Confispace, not Apple or Google. Confispace, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple and Google have no duty to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund any price you paid for the app (it is free). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Confispace, not Apple or Google, handles any claim about the app or your use of it — including product liability claims, claims that it doesn't meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow the terms of the store you got the app from, and of your mobile network.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
9. Disclaimers and liability
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We're not responsible for what other people post or do in the app, though we act on reports as described in section 3.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Confispace will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the app will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US $100).
- Some places don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the version number and date at the top of this page change, and the app asks you to accept the new version before you post again. If you don't accept it, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us so we can try in good faith to resolve the concern informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to bring it in your local courts.
12. Contact us
